Our Story

The Huston House story ~

A photographer meets a makeup artist and the rest is history.  Well, that is true but there is definitely a little more to the story.  My wife, Michelle is an incredible, Emmy winning make up artist and I, Jonathan am a celebrity portrait and film set photographer.  We did meet on a film set, and now two years later are married and not only partners in life but in business as Huston House candles.  

We first started making candles as a hobby during the 2023 WGA (writers) strike when our industry completely shut down for 5 long months.  Making candles was a way for us to stay creative, busy, romantic, and have some fun together during a rough time in our work lives.  We quickly fell in love with it and at the same time realised that the majority of candles on the market, even so called luxury brands, were lacking in scents that smell amazing or even in scent at all.  So naturally, the idea for Huston House Candles was born.

Established June 2025

Almost 2 years later, after rigorous research and testing, Huston House candles was established. 

We take great care in creating each and every scent that makes it to our Huston House line up, offering our customers full scents with multiple layers of richness, depth, and what we believe is the highest level of hand poured, hand labeled, luxury scented, and clean/non-toxic candles available.  We strive to bring you fragrances that make your senses dance with joy, connect you to memories of places traveled, inspire creativity, or simply set the mood.  We are bringing the romance & the sexy back to candles.

Luxury Clean/Non-Toxic candles

-We use the highest quality luxury fragrances available, free of phthalates, organ toxins, acute toxins, CMR's (carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins), and ingredients on the CA prop 65 list.   

-Lead and zinc free cotton wicks.

-100 % soy wax

-Handblown glass tumbler jars for our 10oz candles.
